Munich´s Top Expat Eats : Indian Restaurant
“Nothing can bring people together like good food.” It fills you with joy and happiness and is a perfect gateway to everyone’s heart. Let’s see what City Starlings has on their table this time. Namaste!
Yep! You guessed it right. Our quest to find the perfect place to experience and enjoy the rich, flavorful and fiery curries (Oops, the Indians hate the word curry, as it is anything but Indian) sub-continental food overseas lead us to one of the finest Indian restaurants in Munich.
“Bombay Tandoori”
Situated in Haidhausen, this restaurant serves amazing food that is as authentic as one gets back home. The fresh herbs, the intense & aromatic spices infusing in the kitchen, along with the rustic decor give us a huge warm welcome.
We recommend:
As a welcome compliment from the house, they serve Papad with three different sauces – mango (sweet), mint & yoghurt, and a spicy green chili sauce! Even though Mango Lassi is popular amongst many, try the traditional Salt Lassi. It helps to cool down the palette and complements the food. Some of our favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala (house speciality), Butter Chicken, Lamb Karahi, Veg Briyani & Dal Palak.
For the brave hearts out there, we suggest the Veg or Non-Veg “Thali” from the menu. Thali means plate in the native language. It consists of a selection of side dishes, rice, roti/naan, salad and a dessert, all served on a platter. It gives you a chance to taste many dishes at once.
A word of caution from the experienced – Go with a full appetite to enjoy this delicious spread!

Sounds good and I will try it.
I would like to recommend another Indian restaurant in Münich called Sidharta. It is not in the city center but on the outskirts (closed to Blutenburg Schloss) but it is worth the drive/ride. Keep the pace Starlings! the blog looks better and better
Thanks for all the lovely feedback Javi!:) And we will most definitely have to give Sidharta a try!! Always great to hear other recommendations from our readers!
