Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and we have a few “sweet treat” ideas to help you ask that special someone, “Will you be my Valentine?“. We list our favorite bakeries, pastry, and candy shops in Munich.
Sometimes, Valentine’s Day gets a bad rap for being highly commercial, but it doesn’t always have to be so over-the-top. Enjoying the moment and take the time to show that special person or people in your life that you appreciate them is what is important.
And there is no better way to express this appreciation than by indulging in something sweet with your Valentine(s) over a warm cup of coffee, tea or even a hot toddy!

Wir Machen Cupcakes
This place is our cupcake dream come true! Not only do they make amazing and unique cupcakes; they also have many other sweet treats. These include: cake pops, cronuts, cookies, macaroons, and brownies – just to name a few! They also specialize in beautiful special occasions cakes, such as those for weddings or birthdays. One member of Team City Starlings can vouch for the amazing wedding cakes! This was where she had an elegant cake & cupcakes made for her wedding!
For Valentine’s Day, the lovely owner Maria informed us that Wir Machen Cupcakes will have special cupcakes and treats available to purchase on and a few days before Feb 14th. So swing by and pick up a few cupcakes. Even better, enjoy them on the spot with a cup of coffee and your Valentine in this adorable shop!

JUNILOVE
Gorgeous, gourmet raw cakes are the specialty here! This is the perfect choice for those that are vegan, gluten intolerant, dairy intolerant, or just want a healthy alternative to the typical Valentine’s treats. These wonderful raw cakes taste divine and they are super pretty too! With flavors like Salted Caramel, Strawberry Cheesecake, or Blueberry Cheesecake, you are bound to discover your favorite!
Place your order per email or via WhatsApp on the homepage here. Please allow a couple of days for delivery time. Also, you can find individual slices being sold at SIGGIS. However, you may run the risk of a particular flavor not being available, but that could quickly become a great way to try something new!

We love the pretty, creative, and tasty cookies found at Keksliebe! This shop opened up its doors in September 2017. Keksliebe offers frosted cookies in either vanilla or chocolate that you can purchase in-store or online. The cookies are decorated with many themes for sports, weddings, fashion, new baby, animals, and so much more!! In particular, they offer seasonally themed cookies throughout the year, so head on over to get your Valentine’s themed cookies for that special someone!!

Chocolaterie Beluga
Calling all Chocolate Lovers… A trip here is a definite must for anyone that loves chocolate! The recipes use premium chocolate sourced from Valrhona, Southern France. Beluga offers 26 different hot drinking chocolates, extra fine mold-made chocolate bars, handmade Belgian pralines, Italian truffle chocolates, French nougat, as well as super pretty gifts. We already spotted incredibly cute Valentine’s themed gifts displayed in the store!

Seductive and sensual, the mini cakes sold here are probably the most beautiful mini cakes we have ever seen! What Valentine or “Galentine” wouldn’t appreciate a gorgeous cake from MALEU! The best part, this store not only sells cakes, but chocolates, pralines, and macaroons. If you have some time, head upstairs to the café!! Or better yet, take your Valentine here for something special and enjoy a cake together!

Unfortunately, their shop near Viktualienmarkt closed. Good news is they continue to sell online. Homemade and ever so tasty, these “little temptations” are available in many flavors. Including some Vegan options as well! For Valentine’s Day, there will be loved themed macaroons and gift sets!
